We are excited to announce that our partners at Grasslands Brewery are releasing the official beer of Tallahassee Soccer Club–To the Goal IPA!
This Saturday, March 2, To The Goal IPA will be added to the tasting room on Gaines Street and will remain a part of the offerings throughout the year. This Session IPA will be citrus forward and easy to enjoy after a hard day on the pitch or rooting from the stands.
History of To The Goal!
Our club branding takes its cues from the former WWII Army Base, Dale Mabry Airfield. Open from 1938 through 1946, hundreds of battalions trained in Tallahassee on what is the current site of parts of Tallahassee Community College. These battalions were the crux of our Battle Lion logo and inspired our independent supporter group the Olde Field Battalion.
One of the storied groups to train at Dale Mabry was the 338th Fighter Group. The 338th featured a flag with a winged lion and a motto written in Latin: Ad Metam. The rough translation of the motto was To the Goal! It was only natural that our club invoke this as our battle cry and makes for an outstanding choice in the name of our club’s official beer.
We hope that you are able to get over to Grasslands to taste the beer for your self–if you do, please post it on social media and tag us!
Thank you for your support.
